What are the onboarding steps I need to complete?

Here are the steps you will need to take to complete your onboarding:

1. Reset your password to access your account

We've created an account for you using the email address you provided. To claim the account you simply need to reset your password.

2. Inside your account, add availability and connect your Google Calendar

Our availability system works the same way Calendly does. You enter your availability and sync with your Google Calendar. You can enter as much or as little availability as you like.

  • Go to the availability tab
  • Add Recurring hours (strongly recommended)
  • Add Specific blocked days or one-off available days (optional / as needed)

  • Set the buffer time and minimum notice you want for your sessions
  • Connect your Google Calendar
  • Sync the calendars you want us to take into account when calculating your availability

  • You can check your availability is calculated as expected by clicking the "View live booking page" link at the top of the screen

3. Sign the coaching agreement we sent you by email

We've also sent you a Coaching agreement via email to sign through Dropbox Sign, along with a summary of the main points in the agreement in plain English.

  • Look for "IGotAnOffer coaching agreement" in your inbox
  • Enter your full name as it appears on your passport
  • Enter your main home address

4. Create a Google Meet link and send it to us

Your coaching sessions will always take place in the same meeting room.

Please send us a Google Meet link following the instructions below. (e.g. meet.google.com/xnv-cfse-jzf) We've included a video for your convenience if you get stuck.

5. Write a short biography and send it to us

Please use the sample bios we've included below as a starting point to write your own bio. Follow these tips for a successful bio:

  • Job experience lines should use this format:
    • 20XX-present: Company, Role, City (Optional)
    • 20XX-XX: Company, Role, City
  • The bio text should:
    • Use a single paragraph, and less then 120 words
    • Be written in the third person. E.g. "Julia was a product manager..." not "I was a product manager..."
    • Focus on your experience interviewing, screening resumes, coaching and mentoring others
    • Quantify your experience as much as possible. E.g. "Julia interviewed 50+ candidates..."

2018-Present: Honghuang AI Technologies, AI Engineering Director, China

2016-18: Facebook, Senior Software Engineer, Menlo Park


Honglu is a former Senior Software Engineer with Facebook. Prior to Facebook, he spent a significant amount of time at NVIDIA where he was a major part of the interview process. He's conducted over 25+ interviews for Facebook software engineering candidates and over 200+ software engineering interviews across his career. At Facebook, he focused on machine learning and data engineering. He's coached over 40+ people and has experience in C++ and Python. Today, Honglu is a Senior Software Engineering Director for an AI company.

2017-18: McKinsey, Senior Associate, Houston


Manu is a former McKinsey management consultant in the Houston office (USA). While at McKinsey he was heavily involved in the recruiting process and interviewed candidates. He's been working as a coach for more than 5 years and has helped over 450 applicants prepare for interviews. His coaching philosophy revolves around developing homework/training programs targeting his clients weak points to most efficiently achieve gains.

Geoff is a former Senior Release Engineer and Manager for Google and former Director of Software Engineering at Pandora. While at Google, he conducted ~200 interviews, primarily for senior-level, staff, and senior staff-level roles (L5-L7). At Pandora, he conducted ~100 interviews for senior-level candidates up to the Director level. He's been working in infrastructure since 1995 and is known for building and nurturing high-performing teams. He is an ICF PCC accredited coach and has coached over 200 clients. Today, Geoff is retired and focused on leadership and career coaching.

6. Send us a good profile picture

Profile pictures make a surprisingly big difference to how much you're booked on the platform. Send us a picture that meets the following requirements:

  • JPEG or PNG format
  • Use a high resolution picture, e.g. 400 x 400 pixels
  • Pick a picture that looks like you today
  • Make sure your face takes ~60% of the frame or more
  • Look at the camera
  • Smile 🙂
  • Avoid distracting backgrounds
  • If you don't have a picture already, get someone else to take one for you

7. Take a selfie holding an ID and send it to us

Why we ask

Marketplaces like IGotAnOffer are subject to Anti Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Customers (KYC) regulations. Checking the ID of coaches who join on the platform enables us to keep the platform for safe.

Send us a selfie of yourself holding your ID. Here are the ID documents we accept:

  • Passport
  • National identity card
  • State-issued driver's license

Make sure that:

  • The ID is clearly visible
  • The full name on the ID matches the full name you've applied with
